IIWM is engaged in several capacity building projects for Pollution Control Board officials and Govt. agencies working in the field of waste management. IIWM has been entrusted with the capacity building of State and Central Pollution Control Board officials across the country in the field of Hazardous Waste, E-Waste and Co-processing of Waste. The new Rules gazetted in 2016 on all these three topics are the main focus of these capacity buildings. These are five days training programmes and designed as interactive modules, which takes place as classroom sessions and field visits. The CPCB supported programmes have been successfully carried out by IIWM for the past 5 years. Similar Capacity building training programmes are also being conducted in the field of Municipal Solid Waste for the concerned Government officials across the country.
Capacity Building programmes are also being conducted for specific sectors of Industries and modules are designed to provide on the job technical solutions in the field of Industrial waste management. About 50 such capacity building programmes have been carried out by IIWM till date.
